HISTORY
Russell Architects began in 1995 when Randy Russell set into motion a dream started when he was attending The Fay Jones School of Architecture at the University of Arkansas. After graduation Randy’s career took him to different cities and different firms, but several years after receiving his degree, Randy realized the time was right to begin his own firm. With a passion for design, commitment to customer service, and an eye for detail, Russell Architects was founded. With the initial idea of offering traditional architectural services, we continue to be committed to this philosophy.
We have completed projects ranging from $50,000 to $50,000,000, and we provide the same level of service and attention to detail for each. We believe that each project is unique. As a result, we carefully listen to each client, and find solutions that are specific to each project type. We have extensive experience in the following: religious facilities; long term care; custom-residential; hospitality; and education. While these continue to be our areas of focus, we are able to draw from our experience with these, and provide an intelligent solution to many other building types.
Our design approach not only involves our clients, but it also involves our engineering consultants. The result is a comprehensive design that incorporates appropriate systems, technologies, and engineering functions. We combine innovation, technology, and creativity into a solution that is always sensitive to the client's budget and schedule.
Our success is evident of our reputation which is why clients and contractors continue to choose Russell Architects as their design professional.

OUR DESIGN PROCESS
We have completed projects ranging from $50,000 to $50,000,000 and we provide the same level of service and attention to detail for each. Regardless of project size, we treat each project and each client as if it were our most important. We believe that each project is unique. As a result, we carefully listen to each client, and find design solutions that are specific to each project type.
Our design approach not only involves our clients, but it also involves our engineering consultants. The result is a comprehensive design that incorporates appropriate systems, technologies, and engineering functions. We combine innovation, technology, and creativity into a solution that is always sensitive to the client's budget and schedule.
Specifically, and typically, for each project we work on, we first develop a written design program. This written program is developed by listening carefully to what the client wants. It is basically the client’s “wish list” for everything they would like to see in their project. This “wish list” is then combined with our pragmatic understanding of how much each client has to spend. The result is a design program, approved by the client, which we can refer back to as a guideline throughout the design process. This information allows us to prepare schematic design drawings, which typically include a preliminary site plan, floor plans, exterior elevations, and (if requested) perspective renderings.
PROJECTING COSTS
We have established a good working relationship with many contractors over the years and they serve as a valuable resource to us when we project probable construction costs. We utilize industry standards and other resources to help determine construction costs during the programming and design phases, and we refine those estimates as the project develops into a more defined scope.
