Contemporary French Country
(Springfield, Missouri)
Tucked at the end of a secluded residential development, surrounded by woods, Russell Architects designed this house to nestle within a thicket of trees, as if it had been there for a very long time.
The owners of this beautiful home wanted it to be designed as if the exterior belonged in the forested outskirts of some quaint-european-village; while the interior was to be spacious, contemporary, naturally lit, with all of the amenities of a modern twenty-first century home.
The exterior includes stone accents, cedar wood trim, with brick facade…while the interior spaces enjoy a variety of ceiling heights, spacious corridors, hardwood floors, open-floor-plan, and state-of-the-art kitchen appliances.
One of the unique features of this home is a stained glass window, designed by the architect, located at the end of the master bathroom.
Another unique feature is the old wood timbers found in an Iowa barn, used for the kitchen ceiling, fireplace mantel, and display shelving built in to a tall niche in the living room.
